I’m not the biggest fan of the OPM scene. The tired, unoriginal, repetitive, and jingle-ish tunes of the mainstream Filipino music are just sad and quite frankly, pathetic (cue in Mr. Right). But it sells because the singer/person behind the microphone (I doubt that all of these people can actually hit the right note) is an already-popular celebrity or someone who’s super good-looking (subjective).
Let’s get ready for another rant by yours truly. Well, isn’t this fun, eh?
I don’t hate Filipinos and I’m not being unpatriotic. But I have a grave disliking for our race. Our “culture and traditions” are so beyond baffling that the mere thought that these things exist makes me want to fucking bang my head on a wall.
Day 21/30 → I don’t want to say never. But it seems like the path that we’re on is leading to exactly that – we’re never going to progress as a country and we’ll probably never be a non-3rd world country.
